Goodnite Inns, value hotel web site redesign released.
2007.04.08 Good Nite Inn hotels is the "affordable" option when visiting California's hottest destinations. Plus, with several locations in Southern California, you'll be just a stone's throw from world-famous attractions like Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Malibu, Disneyland Resort, Knott's Berry Farm, San Diego Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.
Good Nite Inn needed a web site redesign which would highlight their fantastic property locations and visually communicate that they were the affordable option when visiting these popular venues and locations. Although the Good Nite Inn Brand is a "discount" hotel chain, "quality" was a brand attribute that needed to be demonstrated. "Guaranteed to exceed your expectations with excellent value, Good Nite Inn stands by its name with friendly and efficient guest service and clean accommodations." In many cases, "value" and "quality" can be a contradition in terms, and Stickstone rose to the challenge. To make the project more challenging, Goodnite Inns had limited resources to offer. There was a lack of professional-quality photos of the property, and no access to a hiRes logo. Additionally the only method available for booking a room was over the phone.
With limited resources, Stickstone took to the drawing board. Color theory suggests that Yellow is a color that represents "discount" and "affordability". This color also worked to accent the dark blue in the property logo. These colors in combination with white space helped to maintain the clean and professional feel needed to create the "value", which is a product of affordability and quality.
The web site was developed using natural Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and W3C validated XHTML and CSS code.
The Google Maps API was added directly to the site to highlight all of Good Nite Inn's popular destinations while allowing visitors to quickly and visually identify all property locations and navigate to the corresponding property page to see photos, read about local events & attractions, and make a reservation.
For reservations, The Netbooker® Independent booking engine by Pegasus Solutions was implemented which integrated its direct Internet distribution with their overall rate and inventory management considerations. The booking engine was customized end-to-end to maintain the brand from booking to e-mail confirmation.

Please note: The client has since maintained the site themselves and may no longer be in the same state it was originally provided. As a result, the site may not look the same as intended and the code (XHTML & CSS) may no longer validate as it had at the time of launch.
